Here's another banner/bookmark, featuring DC's king of the seven seas, Aquaman. At this point I guess I'm just drawing whatever characters I dig, and despite his history I flippin' dig Aquaman. This is actually even a little different since last time I drew him for the mugshots. This one intentionally mirrors the Superman bookmark, you'll see why eventually.
I'm really trying to push different kinds of lighting, especially in the face, and letting the washes take the reigns a little more over the spot blacks. It was a lot of fun trying to get that stormy mood too.
I know at this point it looks like I'm just going with the big seven, but hopefully you'll be somewhat surprised with the next couple of them.
I think part of the problem is starting to become that they've tried to re-vamp him too many times, he's starting to get a case of Hawkman syndrome. I totally agree with you though, such great potential.
YO Kiddos...DC comics will make a Aquaman´s revamp soon. Keep reading Blackest Night cause there´s some good rumors that Geoff Johns will put his Midas´hands on him.
I loved Aquaman during Grant Morrison's run on JLA even though I was never crazy about the harpoon hand look he had at the time. I'm glad you went with his classic outfit.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
