Not a huge surprise for the next bookmark, I love drawing Black Canary. I think it has something to do with the hair. After DC's Wednesday Comics came out the other day, I was so excited about the whole thing I was trying to think of characters I would love to work on in that format (of the ones that weren't already included). Black Canary's right at the top of that list for me. There are plenty of really close seconds (who will probably end up being the next couple of bookmarks), but I always enjoy drawing Dinah.
The logo is from Alex Toth's work on the character in Adventure Comics, as is her costume. I identify a lot of this character with Toth because, hands down, he drew my favorite take on her. This one took very little time to put together as well, so hopefully that means I'm starting to get a little faster. Black Canary is property of DC Comics. |
